A Clear Sign of Christ’s Return: When All Israel Will Be Saved

A Divine Signal Before the King Appears

Mount of Olives and the return of Jesus Scripture reveals a clear and unmistakable sign that will signal the nearness of Jesus Christ’s return. Before the skies split open and every eye sees Him, there will be a great and supernatural turning among the Jewish people. The Bible calls this moment the salvation of “all Israel.” When this national awakening takes place, it will serve as one of the most powerful indicators that the return of the Lord is at hand.

This sign is not hidden in complicated timelines or speculative charts. It is plainly declared in the New Testament, particularly in Romans 11. The same apostle who carried the gospel to the Gentiles also carried a deep burden for his own people, Israel. He explained that God has not rejected them forever. Instead, He has a glorious plan to bring them back to Himself through faith in their Messiah.

Many believers today are watching world events and asking what the final signs will look like. According to Scripture, one of the most visible and thrilling signs will be a massive outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon the Jewish people. When Jewish men and women in large numbers begin to recognize Jesus as their Messiah and Lord, it will be a divine wake-up call for the entire Church: the King is coming soon.

“And in this way all Israel will be saved. As it is written: ‘The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob. And this is my covenant with them when I take away their sins.’” — Romans 11:26-27 (WEB)

The Mystery Paul Commanded Us to Understand

Paul was very clear that he did not want believers to be ignorant of this truth. In Romans 11:25 he writes, “I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited.” The mystery is not that Israel has been permanently cast aside. The mystery is that Israel has experienced a partial hardening until the full number of the Gentiles has come in. Then, in God’s perfect timing, “all Israel will be saved.”

This hardening is partial, not total. Even now, there is a remnant of Jewish believers in Jesus. But the day is coming when the veil will be lifted on a national scale. God has sovereignly allowed this hardening for a purpose — to open the door of salvation to the nations. The gospel went out to the Gentiles because many in Israel rejected their Messiah at His first coming. Yet that rejection was never meant to be the final chapter.

Paul warns Gentile believers not to become arrogant. We have been grafted into the rich root of Israel’s covenant promises. We did not replace Israel; we were brought into what God had already started. To boast against the natural branches is to misunderstand both grace and the heart of God. The same God who grafted us in is fully able to graft the natural branches back in again — and He will do exactly that.

The Olive Tree and God’s Unbreakable Faithfulness

Paul uses the powerful picture of an olive tree to explain God’s plan. The natural branches represent Israel. Some of those branches were broken off because of unbelief. Wild olive branches — representing Gentiles — were grafted in. But the root remains the same. The covenants, the promises, and the faithfulness of God all flow from that root.

Because we have been grafted in, we share in the nourishing sap of the root. But we must never forget where the root came from. God is able to graft the natural branches back in, and He has promised to do so. The same faithfulness that keeps us secure in Christ is the faithfulness that will one day restore Israel to her Messiah.

This picture should produce deep humility in every believer. We are debtors to Israel. The Scriptures, the covenants, and the Messiah Himself all came through the Jewish people. When we see God’s plan for Israel unfolding, we should rejoice, not boast. The God who keeps His promises to Israel is the same God who keeps His promises to us.

The Partial Hardening and the Fullness of the Gentiles

God has sovereignly permitted a hardening to come upon Israel in part. This hardening has a divine purpose and a divine limit. It will continue only “until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.” There is a specific, appointed number of people from every nation who will be saved before this great turning of Israel takes place.

We are living in the time of the Gentiles. The door of salvation stands wide open for people from every tribe, tongue, and nation. But that season will one day come to its appointed end. When the last Gentile who is meant to be saved has come to Christ, God will turn His full attention back to Israel in a powerful and visible way.

This truth should fill the Church with both urgency and hope. Urgency because the time to reach the lost is now. Hope because God’s plan is moving forward exactly as He ordained. When we begin to see Jewish people turning to Jesus in unprecedented numbers, we will know that the age of the Gentiles is drawing to a close and the return of Christ is near.

“All Israel Will Be Saved” — A National Spiritual Awakening

The phrase “all Israel will be saved” does not mean every single Jewish person who has ever lived will be saved. It refers to the nation as a whole experiencing a genuine, widespread turning to Jesus as Messiah. Just as there was a remnant in Elijah’s day, there will be a remnant in the last days — but this remnant will be so large and so visible that Scripture can rightly call it “all Israel.”

This future revival will be marked by deep repentance and faith in Jesus. It will not be merely a political or cultural movement. It will be a supernatural work of the Holy Spirit. Jewish people will look on the One they pierced and mourn for Him (Zechariah 12:10). They will recognize that the Jesus they once rejected is the very Deliverer who comes from Zion to take away their sins.

God has not rejected His people. His gifts and His call are irrevocable. The same God who called Abraham, who gave the Law through Moses, and who sent the prophets is the God who will one day bring Israel back to Himself through faith in His Son. This is the covenant He promised, and He will fulfill it.

The Deliverer Will Come from Zion

Jewish people praying at the Western Wall Paul connects this future salvation directly to the return of Christ. He quotes Isaiah: “The deliverer will come from Zion; he will turn godlessness away from Jacob.” Jesus will return to Jerusalem. His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives, just as the angels declared in Acts 1. When He comes, He will turn Israel from her unbelief and fulfill every covenant promise.

This is why the sign is so significant. If you ever witness a massive, Spirit-led revival among the Jewish people — if you see Jewish men and women, young and old, turning to Jesus in large numbers — do not treat it as just another religious trend. Recognize it as one of the clearest biblical signals that the skies are about to open and the King is about to appear.

God is not finished with Israel. The story that began with Abraham is heading toward a glorious conclusion when the natural branches are grafted back in and the whole world sees the faithfulness of God displayed in power.

A Call to Prayer, Humility, and Readiness

This truth calls every believer to three responses.

First, we must pray. We should pray fervently for the Jewish people — that the veil would be lifted, that the Holy Spirit would be poured out, and that many would come to faith in Yeshua before He returns. Prayer is not passive; it is active partnership with God’s purposes.

Second, we must walk in humility. We have been grafted into the root. We did not earn our place. We must never look down on the Jewish people or treat them as forgotten by God. Instead, we should honor the root that supports us and remember that the same faithfulness that keeps us will one day restore them.

Third, we must live ready. Whether we see this great Jewish revival in our lifetime or not, the call is the same: live with urgency and expectation. Jesus could return at any moment. The signs are all around us. But one of the most hopeful signs is the coming spiritual awakening among the very people who first received the promises.

Paul ends Romans 11 with a doxology of praise: “Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!” God’s plan is perfect. He has not forgotten Israel, and He has not forgotten you. The same faithfulness that will bring revival to the Jewish people is the faithfulness that keeps you secure in His love until the day He appears.

Live Ready — The King Is Coming

Do not be conceited. Do not boast against the branches. Instead, pray for them. Love them. Share the good news of the Messiah with both Jew and Gentile. And keep your eyes on the eastern sky. One day soon, the Deliverer will come from Zion. Godlessness will be turned away from Jacob. And all who have put their trust in Jesus — from every nation — will rejoice together at His appearing.

Maranatha. Come, Lord Jesus.
